cant open any attachment

Newbie here. got this BB 8700 4.1

i cant open any attachment on it.
but it mentioned i can open .xls and .jpeg
but it doesnt open
it show collapse or expand only

Do i need to install any word or excel on my bb...
how about jpeg? it should be default right?

did u try navigating where the [attachment] is on the message then clicking the track wheel and click open till u extract the full attachment?

Are you on a BES? It's possible that your IT Policy has attachments disabled. (n)

Expand it.....scroll down to "Full Content"......hit enter to retrieve the full content.
