I manage the schedules of a small staff of interpreters, most of whom use the 8703e with Verizon (two use a 7250). I was jazzed about the BIS upgrade to 2.3 so I could use the wireless meeting requests to better manage their schedules, only to find it's not supported in 4.1.

Do you think Verizon will offer an upgrade to 4.2, or do you think they'll use the additional features available to 8830 users to encourage 8703e owners to upgrade to a new BlackBerry? Anyone been a Verizon BlackBerry customer long enough to comment on a trend? Did they release updates to the OS of the 7250 to increase its utility?

I'm jonesing for a device software upgrade to 4.2.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.7196/1684; en; U; ssr))

Until there's an announcement there really are no facts, just hearsay. I imagine that at least one CDMA carrier will eventually release 4.2.1, but as for who or when that's up to the individual carriers to decide.

I know that storm I just cant stand people posting something and not saying that they have heard with out saying where they heard it. Give some information about who and where you heard it. Atleast substantuate the hearsay with crediable resources

I can't say for sure but I don't think the VZW 7250 shipped with 4.1 on it and 4.1 for the 7250 is available from VZW. Now, whether that's relevant or not to the 8700 and 4.2 is an entirely separate matter.

There's really nothing you can count on until they decide to release it (or you can switch to BES if you really really need meeting request support).

Well said. I don't think the 7250 platform can support 4.2 (memory). I could not wait for 4.2 on the 8703 so I signed up with TheMessageCenter.com for exchange and BES services. Best decision I've made for my blackberry.

If/when VZW releases 4.2 is anyone's guess.
