My 8700g says no netwrok detected

Hi I'm brand new to blackberry and when I tried to go to the email function this is the message I got. I have the email service but I can't use it because of this. Any help is appreiciated

You need to have the wireless turned on and you need to be in an area where you are receiving cell coverage. You might be in a building that is causing a problem? Do you know for sure the BB should be seeing the network?

Do you have a signal from your carrier?

ou might want to pull the battery for about 30 seconds and then let the BB reboot. That seems to cure a lot of ills.
