I hope this is worth it. I was really only looking for a place to charge an extra battery but found this:

eBay: NEW BATTERY AC CHARGER CRADLE FOR BLACKBERRY 8800 8830 (item 280121277627 end time Jul-02-07 07:03:28 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:11&Item=280121277627)

I will post more about it when it arrives but it certainly should (according to the description and photographs) meet my needs. Has anyone else been looking for something like this?

seems to be a good price, I would be anxious to hear how it is.

I actually purchased a cradle like this for my 8700g and it works great! It has a little slot behind the BlackBerry for charging an additional battery, and it has a connection for the USB cable for synching. Plus it gives me a nice place on my desk to hold the BlackBerry when I am not using it. I bought mine from eAccess.com. I highly recommend it.

I just purchased the same charger from Blackberry Den - Blackberry Accessories Fitting Device, Budget & Lifestyle (http://www.blackberryden.com) $24.99, also purchased a extra OEM battery $34.99 and 15 screen protectors. spent over $50 and UPS ground was free.

Can I use the cradle with the Seidio Super Slim Rubberized Hard Case? Meaning, do I need to remove the case every time I use the cradle?

Thanks.

I've got that cradle and it works very well. Yes, you have to take the 8800 out of that case for it to fit on the cradle. I've got one of those thin, soft, silicone gel skins for my 8800 and I still have to remove it to use the cradle.

The charger/cradle is 19.99 + 5.95 shipping at the Blackberry Den linked above.

Thanks, JSWriter. Like MrKyoo, I was hoping I can use both since the Rubberized Hard Case is hard to remove. Too bad....

Well, it is NOT as advertised, and I am pretty ticked. No slot to charge the extra battery. I sent an email and I expect a full refund soon.

nimocone, The only problem with the cradle is the 8830 has to be off when charging in the cradle, if not the voice dialing button on the side activates. No big deal, I always charge with the phone off. It will do until a cradle comes out made for the 8830.

I appreciate knowing that. I don't mind either because I keep mine off as well when it's charging overnight.

Ugh, just found this out the hard way. I don't think I have problems with the voice dialing button (mine is remapped to Profiles...but I don't see any indication of it being pushed). But, I only used the ac adapter to connect to the charger, and inserted the phone. The phone shows that it is charging. But it apparently isn't. After my first full weekend of the phone on, and on the charger, it was completely dead this morning.

I don't want to turn mine off while charging. So I switched to the usb charging cord including with the 8830, and plugged it into the USB slot on charger (and removed ac power cord). That worked fine.

Same thing happened to me. They explained that it was a manufacturer shipment error and promised to send out a replacement quickly. They did and I received it within a couple of days.

I'm not sure I'm totally pleased with it. If you plug in the AC adapter and slide in the BB, the led at the bottom of the unit flashes an annoying alternating red/green continually. Just connecting through the USB generates a continual red LED which is bearable. I plan on leaving the AC adapter unplugged until I need to charge the extra battery. I do wish it had come with some instructions.

Craig.
