Modem config for a US Cellular Blackberry 8703e

Does anyone got any links on a how to for configuring a US Cellular BB 8703e as a modem to connect my laptop to the internet? Also how about using a bluetooth connection from my phone to my laptop for internet connection?

That's a good question. I work for US Cellular but where I work we don't sell many BBerys. Matter of fact, the two that we have sold, I sold them.

Bad new. Us Cellular does not support the 8703e as a modem feature which is why you can't find the sofware to do it. They said that if they saw high data usage they would notify you and possibly charge you an etf. The only way to get wireless data service throuh them is wih the aircard which for unlim data is $60. Ouch. Hope this helps.

It is technically possible to use a US Cellular 8703e as a modem:

1. Install the latest version of Desktop Manager
2. Create a new dial-up account
3. Username: 6085551234@<hidden> (use your own number here)
4. Password: 6085551234 (your phone number)
5. Number to dial: #777

This will work and you can connect to the Internet using this. However, this is not supported by US Cellular and they claim it is a violation of the Terms of Service. I have been told that they will send you a warning letter if they are alerted that you are doing this. If you continue, they will send you another letter. Then they will cancel your service the third time.

I use this once and a while, but only when needed. The browser on my 8703e works for most everything I need except for my online banking. I have never gotten a letter. If you were streaming music, downloading huge files, etc. then you'd probably get the letter.

hey everyone. i have a 8703e as well, and its through us cellular. I also work for them. BB Desktop Manager and BB Device Manager have to be running. also when you create the dial up connection your user name is example: 2075551234@<hidden> and ur password if 2075551234. The dialing number is #777 Its been working for me and i havent been sent any type of notice after about 2 months of using it this way.
