Not reading my SIM card

Today I slipped onto the ground while running, and my Blackberry (unfortunately) slammed onto the ground in a plastic bag.

This story, I will not reveal to Cingular / AT&T when I go tomorrow, but...

Everything works perfectly on my phone, but it refuses to read my SIM card. I've replaced it probably 20 times, and it has never worked.

So, because Cingular is currently closed and I have to wait 'til morning with a huge amount of worry, I need opinions on what is wrong with my phone. It might be the SIM card, since it is about a year old and has a ton of little chips on it... :T

The guy at the Cingular kiosk in our mall told me that they would be able to replace the phone for free b/c (minus the previous story) it's a manufacture defect.

if you have another cingular phone around, try the sim card from that phone...and see if it works

Put it on your PC/Laptop and see if you can read it.

That is unfortunate. Good luck with getting the BB fixed/replaced...
