Use of 8830 with Lenovo Bluetooth

I have been told by tech assist that the 8830 will not work with the bluetooth on lenovo laptops. RIM requires the use of Microsoft bluetooth. Lenovo insists thier version is standard and should work--I smell an old RIM-IBM battle. Any insights on how to get the 8830 and my laptop to sync via bluetooth?

There is no battle. You can only sync your BB with Desktop Manager via Bluetooth using the Microsoft Bluetooth Driver. No other Bluetooth drivers will work. There is information on this in the Bluetooth forum.

lenovo don't provide Bluetooth standard modem

and RIM don't provide Driver...

anyone solved the connectivity of the 8830 (or any other BB) with a Lenovo laptop over bluetooth to use it as a modem? (in my case T61)
