Severely discharged battery problems

Hello-

I haven't charged my 7100t's battery in many months (I use a different network now). Recently I figured I'd plug it in, just for the heck of it. What happens is the red light comes on, a few seconds later it tries to boot, presumably runs out of battery power (since it only charged about 2 seconds), and repeats this over and over.

Is there anything I can do?

First, I would allow it to charge several hours, before attempting power on.
