Transfer Off BES

I currently own a Blackberry. It is joined to a BES and has been Enterprise Activated. I sync on two machines. One Desktop Manager program installation has the "BES" option selected, and one install had "Desktop Redirector" selected. What I want to do is remove myself from the BES for a new device that I will be purchasing. However, I want to continue to cable-sync on both machines. My plan is to buy the new device, uninstall Desktop Manager on the machine that has the BES configuration, reinstall it in the desktop redirector configuration, and sync. By doing this, I expect the new device to sync correctly but not be on the BES.

A couple of related questions:

1. If I run it from the Desktop Redirector machine, does the Switch Device Wizard transfer "confer" BES administration onto a new device?
2. Will the above steps work to accomplish what I want?
