Please could someone help me to get a 7290 working again.
On the screen is says : "Catastrophi..." and below this ins black box reset.
I dont know what the user did to achieve this.

I have taken out the battery and insert again - nothing happens same error appears. i have pressed the return key, wich seems to restart the BB, but the same error appears again.

Any ideas?

You are going to need to wipe out and rebuild the BB. I hope you have a backup.

Locate and download a copy of Javaloader.EXE (search for it here)
Locate and download the latest handheld code from your carrier. Execute the downloaded program.

Connect your BlackBerry and make sure Desktop Manager is shut down.

Open a DOS prompt and type

javaloader -usb wipe (which will completely erase the BB)

Then restart Desktop Manager. It will detect the BB and reload the OS.

Does anyone know how to resolve the above mentioned problem? I've so far tried what was suggested but it did not worked. Using the DOS command and the javaloader, I got the message, the port is not connected. What could have caused this issue. If it won't connect to the Desktop Manager, how can I even use the Application Loader to update the OS or firmware. I did noticed that the Device Manager registered a connection with the USB connection.
