I am looking to get my first bberry, and since I can't find a good price (under 500) on a 7250 since I am only 4 or 5 months into my contract, a used 7750 is looking like a good option. I know the 7250 is way faster, and smaller, but if I never used a 7250 would I notice the difference?

HERE (http://www.blackberry.com/compare/compare.do;jsessionid=1c3034da2edf$C3$27$0TR?handhelds=21&handhelds=201&method=getFeatureView&x=40&y=10) is a comparison of the 7250 and 7750 on the RIM website.

FWIW, while its not exactly the same two devices, I went from a 7230 to a 7730, and much prefer the 7730's form factor, backlight, etc.

I had a 7750 and I can tell you that it's not just slow it's frustratingly slow. I would not buy a 7750 for any reason. I believe it is the slowest color BB in existance. Also after installing the 4.0 code there isn't much storage left.

Yes, the only users that agree to use a 7750 are the ones that are willing to use a BlackBerry at no cost :-)

When we are able to upgrade a 7750 to a 7250, we do it.

Gotta agree here. We're having 7750 users offer to pay out-of-pocket to upgrade to 7290s.

good enough for me, just wanted a few opinions, already got a lot of help from a great mod here, but just wanted a few more, guess I will save a bit longer and get the 7250. Anywhere i can get it without a contract for 400$ or less?

that's actually the one I just bid on, LOL. Just as a hypothetical question, is it possible to have the BB without the internet service? I am going to get unlimited, but my dad is looking at them now as an organizer and thinks he would like the internet and email, but if he doesn't can he cancel it and still keep the BB?

I don't see why you couldn't have a BlackBerry without the BlackBerry service. All syncing would just have to be done through the desktop manager.

that's what i assumed as well. Okey dokey, back to bidding on my 7250, and getting my almost brand new 710 ready to be sold on ebay :-) Thanks all for the help, and if you think of anything else I need to know pre-blackberry, please let me know

OH, one thing that did concern me, I went and played with one today, and set the profile to loud, and listened to the "tunes" and I couldn't hear the phone ring without putting my ear on it...is this normal? It was this way on 2 demos at 2 different stores.

Are you sure you had the profile set to play it loud? I don't have super hearing, but I can hear my collegues 7250 when they are ringing.

yeah, I am sure. It's weird, but to hear it I literally had to put my ear on the phone. Kind of made me not want to get one, but figured it was a fluke and it couldn't be that soft or no one would buy them.

one last question too, I was reading the big thread about the release of the 7250, and it was noted in there that the 49.99 plan for unlimited use with the blackberry does not allow web browsing unless on a corporate system. I don't think this would be true, but want to verify first, because if I cannot web browse and recieve and send emails for 50$ a month, I may rethink this.

I lost this auction by 5$ cause I thought it ended later. However, a person emailed me afterwords asking to buy a unlocked 7250 from her for a very good price, I checked her feedback and it is 50 positives, BUT she has never sold anything before in the 3 years she has been a member. Seems a little too good to be true, what do you guys think. I said if she can provide pics, and an ESN then maybe we can do business.

The information about not having web access without a corporate BES server is dated now. VZW didn't have web browsing on the 7750 until the 4.0 OS was available. The 7250 had 4.0 from the start, and allows you to browse the web, even without a BES.
