I just received this phone from my aunts friend and would like to use it.

This is a T-Mobile phone(I have T-Mobile so no problems there:smile: )

But how do i go about activating it?

Just put your current SIM card into the BlackBerry, then call T-Mobile and have them add a BlackBerry Data Plan to your account.

Does it cost money?

Yes, the BlackBerry Data Plan will probably be $20-30 extra per month.

Then just put your SIM card in it and turn it on. There's nothing more you need to do.

You don't need to do Enterprise Activation at all. In fact, just hide that icon. It will cause problems for you if you try to use it without a BlackBerry Data Plan, or an enterprise server to attach to.

You don't need an unlock code, because the device is a T-Mobile device, and you have a T-Mobile SIM card.

If you can't call out using the phone, then maybe there's some security restrictions on the phone from the previous owner.

Go into Options > Security Options > General Settings and tell us if it says anything next to IT Policy Name:

Beats me then.
What happens when you try to call out? Do you get a recording from the carrier, or do you get an error message on the Blackberry screen?

Maybe you should call T-Mobile at this point.

You said earlier.. "i don't want all the internet and stuff like that. I jmust want to talk on it and text and stuff like a normal phone."

You need a BlackBerry Data Plan ($20-$30 a month) in order to have Internet access on your BlackBerry device.
Your old data plan will not work.

So i should stop paying for the other internet access?

Another thing is it says "Data connection refuse" at the top, what does that mean?

If it were me, I would cancel it. If you don't need to use Internet, EMail, or data features... then there's no reason to pay for a data plan.

It means you don't have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account. That message won't go away until you get one.
