I'm confused. Someone please explain this one to me..

I select a few SMS messages and choose "File Messages," and put them in "SMS Saved Messages." Then I delete the SMS messages from the main inbox. Now, I try to go find those saved SMSs... to no avail. I try "View Saved Messages," they're not there. And if I choose "View Folder," guess what? There mysteriously is no "SMS Saved Messages folder"! And even before I deleted the SMS's from the main inbox, this mysterious SMS Saved folder still didn't exist. I mean, I can file messages into it...but.. then I can't look at them ever again.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but we had a similar issue. Try changing a setting uner "Message Options" and then "General Options" called "Hide Filed Messages". This way it only shows filed messages when you open the filed folder, not at your main message screen.

Nope.. this doesn't help. I think maybe you misunderstood my post..

The problem is that if I file SMSs into the "SMS Saved Messages" folder... and then delete the originals.. there's no way to view those saved SMSs. That folder doesn't seem to really exist. Even if I disable "Hide Filed Messages," I can't see them. They're basically just filed into limbo...

The original and the filed one are one and the same. No copies -- that takes up valuable space. By enabling Hide Filed Messages, you do not see them in the main messages folder, only in your saved messages folder. If you delete it, it is deleted, regardless of where it is "filed".

What you're saying doesn't quite match up with the behavior.

When I file some SMS's into "SMS Saved Messages," they do not vanish from the main messages folder, even though I have "hide saved messages" turned on. Plus, to make matters more confusing, I can also "Save Messages" as well as "File" them into a saved folder.. which as I've said before, SMS Saved Messages is totally inaccessible.

This is making no sense. Filing e-mails makes sense.. it works perfectly. It's filing SMS messages that seems highly goofed.

OK just to set the record straight. If I highlight an SMS & choose "Save", it does indeed make a copy. I delete the original, and then I choose "View Saved Messages" from the trackwheel menu, and there's the SMS.

Sorry for the misinformation then...
