I have made changes to the code files stored in the Loader Files on my PC. I want to update my device with these newly updated files. When I open desktop manager, I am not prompted to upgrade the software.
How can I upgrade or re-flash the software if I am not prompted?
TIA

Did you delete vendor.xml?

Have you tried launching Application Loader? That's what I usually have to do...and assuming the software has been installed on your PC, app loader will prompt to install it.

No, I did not. I downloaded a Verizon OS and I have Verizon service...do i still need to delete the vendor.xml file?
If i delete the file, will it ask me to upgrade everytime I open Desktop manager?
Theres gotta be a manual way to start that process

yes, when i open the application loader it reads my device and populates the list of applications.
It gives me no option to upgrade the OS or anything like that...just add/remove apps from the list.

Did you actually install the handheld software on your PC or did you just download it?

Would please post here your current OS version on the 8830, as well as the version numbers of the OS you downloaded and have waiting on your PC?

They are both the same, I already upgraded the phone to the new 8830 software.....8830-v4.2.2.148_P3.0.0.67
I have deleted some .cod files (alternative languages) and now I would like to update the phone with the new Loader Files.
How do I do this?
TIA

You can delete the languages directly from your BB... much less problem.

yes, but I read that this does not fully delete the languange. I have also made changes to the preloaded ringtone file and would like these ringtones to be updated.
For some reason all BB's have Notifier_Cricket, but the 8830 does not. I downloaded a Curve profile and ripped the preloaded ringtones out of it. replaced that file with Qualcomm's ringtones and now I would like to update the OS with this new ring tone file.
