In BBM if I look at a contacts info it shows his email addy is there a way to edit that? The address it shows isn't in my address book.

What field Is that in?

For contact info I see nickname, info and status. Nickname I assume is from the contact. Info is the PIN. And status is set by the contact and can be something the contact edits on his end.

Do you see addtional fields on your BB?

in the info section it has his email. I wonder if that is because he was requested vis email versus PIN?

But on what line in info screen?

I've invited via email but never noticed.

If you see email address on nickname line, I'd say the contact gave that as his nick.

For what it's worth, I can't edit anything on the contact info screen.

it is actually on the contact INFO line where the PIN normally resides

That beats me. I bet you can't edit it. Or can you?

.... I bet your idea is it. Are you seeing this in a pending contact, or after contact has accepted?

If the user is on a BES, the INFO line displays the e-mail address that they use in that org. If the user isn't on a BES, then the INFO line shows their PIN.

Thanks ladydi

this is probably a dumb question. But how can I figure out what my PIN is. I can't seem to use the mesenger.

Your PIN is listed at Options > Status.

OR in any text field, you can type mypin with a space after and your PIN will appear.

Is there a montly fee by using the Blackberry Messenger? I have get to try it out but I'm about ready to take that next step, too.

I just love my CURVE

I just love my CURVE

It uses data from whatever Blackberry Data Plan you signed up for. If you have unlimited data, then it's unlimited use of BBMessenger
