Ok.
Create a group in your phone book.. For this, lets call it "Test Group"
Add a couple of numbers

no go bad to the Standby Screen, and press "T"
You should get a list of T's in the phone book, and the group..
You should now get an error.

Pressing a letter which wouldn't include a group; it's fine!

This was a bug in some of the older software (at least on the Pearl.) What OS are you using on the device?

What about this one? When you go to the phone Options in the 8830, under Voice Mail, you can insert your password so that your speed dial inputs the password and gets you quickly to your messages. However, when I do that and save, I get a Java uncaught exception.

I have Verizon and I have the updated OS. (4.2.2.148) Has anyone else experienced this?

I have the latest OS and am not having this issue (either one). Wipe the handheld and reload the OS from scratch. You've got something corrupted.

Yikes! Can I do a complete backup so that everything is preserved when I restore?

Yes, use the backup/restore function in Desktop Manager.

Yes, use the backup/restore function in Desktop Manager.

For instance, are things such as Profiles preserved?
