View Full Version : Can BB send email other than "Courier" font?

Those receiving my email can tell when I send from my BB because it comes across in plain text in Courier font (10pt). My boss in particular uses a very high screen resolution and complains that the font is too small to read and "different" from my normal email which I send in html with Arial 10pt.

Any way to be able to send mail from BB in anything other than Courier or plain text format?

Please explain where that is?
Options where? Messages where?

I believe he's kidding....you can change font and font size on the Blackberry, for user's preference, but it sends plain text no matter what.
The end reciever (boss), will have to change settings in his/her Outlook as to what "plain text" looks like.

Gee - I couldn't tell if Fizz was kidding or not.

well, for some people surfing, they might use this thread as a reference, and post, "I did a search, found it, but it didn't work".
Just trying to help out the naive...
(and yes, I thought to myself, "that can't be done", but still went looking at the options...I'm a little naive sometimes).

I would have thought that a serious answer (as in No, you can't change the font that the BB sends messages out as, you can only change the appearance on the screen itself) would have been a much better answer. Rather than sarcasm.

I totally agree NJB...my comment was addressing the original poster.
I wasn't sarcastic...

This is what I experience:

I use a 7250 on a hosted BES/Exchange Server through Link2Exchange. When newly activated my BB used to send all new e-mails and replies in plain text. Now it sends it in HTML (Times New Roman size 10) and when I look at the source of my messages, here's what I get:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN">
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=utf-8">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="MS Exchange Server version 6.5.7226.0">
<TITLE>Test format</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<!-- Converted from text/plain format -->

<P><FONT SIZE=2>...e-mai body text...</FONT>
</P>

</BODY>
</HTML>

So it looks as if the Exchange Server converts my plain text messages to HTML but I don't know how I can control that... I don't even know what I did to initiate the change! The only thing that I can think of is that it started to do that after I plugged it in to my computer and used the Blackberry Desktop Manager... But I haven't seen any settings about the mail format in it...

I would prefer to keep it "plain text only" but maybe some of you would prefer using HTML but actually personalize fonts and size.

Any idea?
