8830 Missed Call Alert???

I am unable to get my 8830 to alert me via SOUND, to a missed call for any length of time. The internal setting repeats only 3 times, in short order. Can I approach my 8830 after say, 1 hour, and and figure out that I missed a call via a "sound" alert? Or third party software to solve my problem?
