Switching SIM cards in BB

Can someone help me:

If my company gives me a GSM BB 1 tied to Carrier A.

Can I take the SIM out of that GSM BB1 and place it into GSM BB2 if both phones are from Carrier A?

As I understand it, this would transfer only data and phone capabiliites and NOT BES capabilities. Is this correct?

Actually it would only carry over whatever information is stored on the SIM card.. E.G. contacts, and network/carrier information/access.

You'd have to back up using Desktop Manager and use the switch device program from there to back up BB1 and upload to BB2 in order to have all your data.
