View Full Version : Enterprise Application Help!

I swear I'm following guide lines here and in the manual but am still lost. I'm real surprised about the lack of a decent manual for this thing (7100G)

I'm trying to activate the Enterprise Application. I've entered my email address which is through Comcast. Entered my password and I've received the emails that say " This message is used to carry data..."

For some reason it just keeps retrying and not making the activation. It's tried 6 times so far and not worked. Any thoughts?

A second question: From what I can tell I need to have an email address through Blackberry in order for my emails from Comcast to be forwarded to my handset. I have been unable to find where I get my email addy from? I've seen a link but I can't sign in because I just got the phone and plan yesterday. Do I need to wait the 3 days so I can get logged in and obtain it then or is there another way to get it?

Thanks again!!

Enterprise Activation (not Application) is used only with a corporate (or hosted) BlackBerry Enterprise Solution. Since you mention Comcast, you should not be using Enterprise Activation. Unfortunately, you have started the process and are now getting the errors...

You need to set up a BlackBerry Internet Service (also called the BlackBerry Web Client) account for your BB. That is done via a web site from your provider. Who is your BlackBerry Service Provider?

First, thanks so much for the reply! I'm so lost with this thing and may not even keep it as so far it's been more of a hassle than anything else. I'm fairly tech savvy but it's a bit of a pain to get things entered and organized. We'll see...

Anyway, on to your question. I have service through Cingular.

Actually it is pretty easy - as long as you don't touch Enterprise Activation.

Go to the Cingular Web client web site at https://webclient.blackberry.net/WebMail/Window.jsp?site=mycingular

Set up the Web Client to push your Comcast e-mail to the BlackBerry.

To sync up you Contacts, etc., install the software that came with the BlackBerry - it is called Desktop Manager. Make sure you tell Desktop Manager that you are using the BWC and NOT the enterprise BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

The online (built in) help system is rather good - start there. Good luck!
