This would have to be done in BES, and I'm not sure that you can do it as that is not an exclusive BlackBerry feature. Rather, it is a feature of the e-mail sytem (Exchange, Domino, GroupWise).

What is an "id policies system" ?

Is your device on a BES?
You can set your away message by going into Messages > Options > Email Settings > Use Out of Office Reply = Yes

(That's for Domino BES. Assume it's similar on other systems.)
