BB 8800 Unexpectedly shuts off

Hello all,
This is my first post and thank you.
Issue: While doing various functions on my 8800 it will unexpectedly shut off and restart. I could be reading email, reading web pages, opening an app etc. Not one thing seems to point to causing the 8800 to shut off this way.
Any help greatly appreciated.

This is a known issue with the 8800 and the buggy 4.2.1 OS that is on it.

Bummer, but thanks for the quick reply. Where would I look for an update and fix for bugs like this?

tim, what OS are you running right now? Options > About. The line starts with a "v."

Look at the Sticky note at the top of the 8800 section for the latest OS, and follow those directions exactly as posted.

Don't see my OS listed in the sticky, it's: v4.2.1.79. I guess I need to wait then for a update/fix.

You can upgrade to another carrier's OS easily, as long as you follow the directions posted in that thread, noting to delete the vendor.xml file.
