Setting the alarm to operate when the BB is switched off

I am trying to use the alarm function to alert me when the device is switched off. I have a BB 7230 (v3.7.1.37 Platform 1.6.1.36).

I have followed the instructions in the manual and observed the following:

<<Warning: If you turn off the handheld by clicking the Turn Power Off icon,
the handheld does not turn on to notify you of the alarm. To have the
handheld turn on to notify you of an alarm, select one of the following
options:
- Turn off the handheld by pressing the Power button.
- Set the Auto On/Off feature. >>

I have pressed the Power button but the alarm doesn't sound. It sounds when I switch the device on but alarm the time has passed by then.

Can anyone help me with this.

that must be a typo. Set your auto on/off feature so that it wakes the bb before the desired time of the alarm

example:

auto on/off set @<hidden> 445am
alarm set @<hidden> 500am

that should resolve your problem

It works if I set the device to turn on first and then run the alarm. Bit of a pain having to set it twice. Maybe v4 will be improved.
