Man. I was at the dentist's, and put my BlackBerry where I thought it would be safe. Guess not! There's a scratch on the screen now, and I know I didn't put it there, because I'm ultra careful with my gadgets. It's not bad, but bad enough I can feel it with my fingernail.

Are there any ways to repair these screens? I seem to recall some kind of a paste or mixture that you rub into a screen like this, and it fills the gaps with tiny little crystalline particles that basically make it look OK again.

Any solutions?! The scratch is bad enough to annoy me for the lifetime of the device. Help!

Oh, NICE! So all is not lost! Whew.

Unfortunately, I own the 7100g, so I'll have to wait. I hope getting the screen cover off isn't too difficult...

I have been looking at the Displex LCD Scratch Remover offered at WirelessGround.com. Does anybody have experience with this product on BB's? It is listed as a BB accessory on their website http://www.wirelessground.com/dilcdscre.html

Supposedly that works well, but probably for very minor scuffs. I can feel my scratch w/ my fingernail.. I don't know if Displex would do the trick.

Anyone knows where to get replacement front cover for the 8700?

Thanks.

I tried Displex. It worked well for minor scratches, but not sure about deeper ones. It doesn't hurt to try.
