Hi guys,

I've just got myself (well, actually my Sales Director has...) a Blackberry 7100v and I'm having major problems with the synchronisation along with Outlook 2000.

After an epic journey of puchashing a whole new pc, setting it up, I've finally managed to get his Outlook working sufficiently so he can send emails ;) (He was previously on Outlook Express - however that's another story for a rainy day)

Basically, before I upgraded his pc to Outlook 2000, we synchronised the Blackberry with his Outlook Express, which is possible for just the contacts email addresses, they all synchronised fine onto the Blackberry - All 600 of them.

Now that I've upgraded him to Outlook 2000 (this is the point where I can see you all giggling away like schoolgirls at my stupidness! ;)) I've tried synchronising the contacts again and now it's added another 600! So now he has 1,200 useless contacts!

Is there an easy way to get rid of all these contacts such as a hard reset or.... do I have to bite the bullet and delete them one by one!?
I can't find any information anywhere as to my problem, so I'd be grateful if anyone of you guys could point me in the right direction!

Thanks a lot.

Ian Harris.

Anyone?

I was kinda hoping for an answer over the weekend but to no avail.

To wipe out the customer data on a 7100v, go into the Security option under Settings, click the wheel and select Wipe Handheld. This will wipe out all customer data.

As an alternate, you can start Desktop Manager, click Backup/Restore, and delete just the Address Book that way.

As yet a third way, you can set a password, enter it 10 times incorrectly (follow the prompts) and it will wipe out all customer data.

Would it make sense to wipe all 1200 of them out of Outlook 2000 and then re-import the 600 from Outlook Express?

Just a thought.

#1 There is no "Wipe Handheld" under settings

#2 I'll try that now

#3 Won't this lock the BB for good?

CMA-

That's what I'm sort of doing, except it keeps adding the records and not replacing the old ones with the new ones from outlook.

Thanks for the advice. Will try it now.

#2 worked.

Everything seems to be sorted now. - Thank you guys.

If I've come across anymore niggles, I guess I know where to ask.

Cheers,

Ian.
