7100t and OS upgrade beyond 4.0?

when will there be an upgrade past 4.0. I currently are having problems with it which people have discussed and I am not going to downgrade to 3.8. i just want to know when there will be a newer OS, I havent seen anything about this yet?

I downgraded from 4.0 to 3.8 and the voice quality improved, but too be honest and I hate to do it, but I might give up on my blackberry until a better smaller form factor comes out. I do not want a bigger model then the 7100 as I've had many but I need better voice quality especially with my bluetooth headset (HS850). Hopefully we'll see either a new improved 4.x code, but don't know if that will even fix the background noise problem.
