BB Calendar Appointments Missing

Outlook 2002, Exchange 2000, BES 4.0
Outlook bolds the dates that contain appointments, for a period 10 months ahead and 2 months in the past (a total of 12 months). This setting cannot be changed.
I noticed that if an appointment in my Blackberry is older than 2 months (not bolded in Outlook) that the appointment does not appear in my Blackberry Calendar -- even though it appears in Outlook.
It DOES show old recurring appointments, however.
I often need to look back at old appointments on my BB. Why does the BB not show non-recurring appointments older than 2 months?

I have noticed something similar. Some repeating events just don't show up in my Blackberry calendar. Like people's birthdays. But other birthdays do show up.

I can't find anything different about these appointments. Everything shows up in Outlook on my PC, and in Entourage on my Mac, and on my Palm (syncs with the Mac)

But just a few annual events seem to be missing from the Blackberry.

This is using BES 4.0 and Exchange 2003.

Anyone???
