Is there anyone who can help me...

We're running BES 4.1 on Exchange 2000 with a number of different Blackberry devices.
Since applying a Microsoft path (as referenced here: Users cannot send e-mail messages from a mobile device or from a shared mailbox in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange Server 2003 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912918/en-us)) we had a problem where no one could send.
The Blackberry service account was given 'send as' permissions at the domain level in AD, so all users inherit it.
This resolved the issue, happy days.

However, since then, we have had a small number of users unable to send every couple of days.
We've been through and tried everything in a number of Blackberry technical articles (see links below) but the only thing that works is removing the permissions (block inheritence) and readding them. The user can then send from the Blackberry again for a couple of days until it happens again.

As you can imagine, this is driving me bonkers.

When they can't send they just get a red cross next to the e-mail in the message list.
Sometimes they get an "unlisted error" message or, a new one this morning was "Desktop e-mail program unable to submit"
Each time the Event Log shows a Blackberry Messaging Event ID of 20000 and 20265 with details along the lines of FAILED.

Has anyone had this, or anything like it and can offer any assistance?
Can anyone suggest something (anything?!) for us to try - I'm willing to give everything short of a full rebuild of the BES server a go!!

They're all members of our main domain.
The BES and Exchange servers are also joined to the same domain - if that makes any difference or helps at all...?

Hi,

sorry for not replying Ive been off sick
I have checked with one of my colleagues and they have advised that it sounds like the users are part of an admin group either on the bes or exchange

Hi,

One of my clients experienced the same problem.
First I tried to wipe out/reactivate unit, also tried to delete service book and regenerate key, neither worked.
Later on we tried to remove the account from BES then readd, it works!
