Everybody probably already has their own way of doing it these days, but I thought I would share mine. The script parses through all of the days individual logs for a particular string and drops all lines containing that string into a single new file on your desktop. It is small and quick code. It obviously runs better if it is run from the BES, but works the same over the network as long as you have shared out your logs directory. Enjoy. Comments welcome.

Note: You will need to edit the code to point to your BESLogs. If not, you will need to change it in the prompt every time.

Not to steal you thunder but if you are parsing logs a lot take a look at TextHarvest.

Oh come on ... now don't dump on it cuz its an MS app: ScriptCenter Tools: Log Parser 2.2 (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/tools/logparser/default.mspx)

... but it was developed by PSS people @<hidden> Microsoft. GREAT Program and there is a great book written by the author at Amazon too.

Downloads - TextHarvest 3.00.00 Freeware Software (http://www.tucows.com/preview/343128)

None stolen. Just a simple script I have been using for a long time. I just sanitized it so that it wouldn't have any company specific stuff in it and then posted it.

I use the Log Parser all the time to create LDIF files. Just different tools for different tasks.

... you had SUCH a good rhyming opportunity there but went with some quasi-alliteration. I can respect that though.
