Are you a Pulse user with an 8700 that you upgraded to OS 4.2?

If so, does having OS 4.2 fix Pulse's problem of being limited to c. 68k down speed with the current official 8700 OS (4.1.0.346)?

Pulse says "it is likely that the forthcoming 4.2 Blackberry OS update will resolve" this issue. Did they guess right? Has it resolved the issue for you...?

(If you respond, would you please say which version of 4.2 you have?)

Pulse is third-party software that appears to be the only way to use an 8700 to connect a Mac to the internet without massive compromises (the other two solutions are 1) running Parallels and sharing the connection with Windows, or 2) upgrading your 8700 to OS 4.2 and using ggoodale's script posted on this site, which means you need to reboot your bb [removing the battery] EVERY time you want to reconnect).

A lot of people have talked about Pulse but it's hard to find firsthand reports by people who are running it, and I'm not running it yet, and their site has an unfinished & unprofessional quality that doesn't exactly inspire me to give them $50 until I know more.

You (and everyone who has a post-8700 devce) don't have to worry about it luckily. As for me, I wish to god I'd known how hard it was to tether an 8700 to a Mac before I decided on an 8700 over an 8800. Now I'm stuck in a contract, can't afford to break it, can't afford to upgrade, so I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
