Do you have a SIM card, and a BlackBerry Data Plan from your carrier?

What is the exact problem you are having?

Is the SIM card connected to an active account? Is the BlackBerry unlocked for that carrier. You really aren't giving much information.

I just got the 7290 in Miami, from Tiger Direct, and they told me that it was unlocked.
In Sao Paulo I got a new sim card from TIM.
and I can't get signal!
See if you can help me
Thanks
Lipe

I have heard Tiger Direct is notorious for selling crap devices.

Check as I showed you determine if it is truly unlocked. You need to.

Can you get a signal with the SIM card in any other phone?

I checked and the BB7290 is unlocked, and the sim is working in another phone!
