Hello All,

I am searching for a headphone to use with my 8300. I drive a convertible, and think that the boom type mic with one earphone will be the best configuration. I've tried the Blue Tooth, but no success.

I picked up a headphone with a 2.5mm plug, and tried to use a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, but that didn't work. I imagine there's a particular type of adapter. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

I have read great reviews on the Jawbone earpiece. It is bluetooth, which shoud work on your 8300.
The Highest Rated Bluetooth Headset. Ever. (http://www.jawbone.com/)

Hey JSanders,

I just tried a JawBone for the weekend. It's fine, not great, and costs about $130 at Best Buy. Definitely not worth that. I returned it.

I'm now looking for the single earphone with boom mic type. I'm talking the kind of thing you use on the cordless household phone or computer.

Yea, I read you wanted a wired earset, I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the jawbone. Good luck.

There are 3 excellent headsets with the fom factor and features you asked for.

- theboom v4 Products (http://www.theboom.com/theboom.html)
The largest and most ugly looking of the 3. Unparalleled outgoing sound quality. However it is large and expensive and the earpiece fits some poorly. (like me)

- Etymotic ety*com Etymotic Research, Inc. - ETY•COM™ Headset (http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er22.aspx)
Smaller, cheaper and a very good all around headset. Slightly worse outgoing sound then theboom, but still better then 99% of headsets. Better in ear fit then theboom (for me).

- Shure Quietspot. Shure - QuietSpot Boom Headset for Mobile Phones (http://www.shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Headsets/QuietSpot/us_pa_qshb3_content)
In my opinion it is very close the the ety.com headset, but the in ear fit is worse.

I have mint condition boom v4 and ety.com headsets I might sell if you are interested. For some time I worked in places that were very noisy and I purchased a lot of headsets in an effort to find ones that actually worked. These 3 all work very well.
