View Full Version : Address Book will not transfer to another BB

I have two 8800 and want to transfer the address book from one to the other. I am using the desktop manager. I tried both the restore function and then the transfer function.Each time I end up with nothing in the address book. I says it encounter an error and 0 transfers from 636. No error type is denoted.

Use the backup/Restore feature to backup the first BB. Then use the Backup/restore "Advanced" feature to selectively restore just the address book database back to the second device.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have been doing it that way and that is also when I get the error message. I'll try it again and be back in a jiff.

Or you can sync to Outlook and then sync back to the new BB again.

Still does not transfer.
I goes thru the motions but no date increase on the right side of the split window. I tried refresh also and when I look at the BB there are no address in the address book. Any other ideas? Additionally the left side of the window shows 636 and 84.4k of information.

I'll try the sync thing.

I tried the sync this using outlook but only got it to go from the BB to outlook. Can't seem to get it to go the other way. I did select export in the configuration but still did not transfer. I must be doing something wrong.

The other 8800 isn't an 8830 is it?

Please share the solution ... I have about the same problem with some 7250 to 8830/8300 upgrade. thanks
