Have to travel to Moscow in November. I know the Curve will work there in roam mode but any other suggestions. I have heard that sometimes you can get a local "card" and pop it in and its less costly....

Thanks

check the airport and kiosks, you can buy local cards like that in most european and asian countries.

a) Your BlackBerry must be unlocked so you can use another carrier's SIM card in it

b) Your e-mail (and data) services will not work unless you are able to find a foreign SIM card with a BlackBerry Data Plan.

A suggestion - get a cheap unlocked phone and take it with you (that's what I do) and do not use the BB much for voice.

welcome to the forums. you can use the unlocked curve in Russia. you wont get BB data (email/PIN/many apps) unless you have a prepaid Blackberry SIM. it will work without BIS for voice and if you have the APN settings for carrier related data. (many apps wont work, but usually you can browse wap sites)
