Default Hands on review: Seidio CIGARETTE LIGHTER CHARGER - 04-14-2006, 12:52 PM

Seidio CIGARETTE LIGHTER CHARGER

Hands on review by lgreenberg

April 14, 2006

Price as reviewed: $14.95

This is the type of review that’s very easy to write. It’s a simple product that just works. Many people are often scared off by after market chargers, some even find that after market chargers don’t work at all. Well Seidio has released a auto-charger for the Blackberry which does work and it works safely.

This OEM grade car charger is not ordinary car charger with mini USB car charger. This charger was specially designed to work with Blackberries (8700/7100i/7130e). The circuitry inside of it will both charge faster and provide more protection from overcharging. With the Cigarette Lighter Charger, you'll never run out of power while on the road.

The OEM RIM charger is twice as much as this product.

Key Features:
· Allows you to charge and use your Blackberry at the same time
· Fits most cigarette lighter sockets in both foreign and domestic vehicles (12-24V)
· Specially designed circuitry protects your Blackberry from overcharging and short-circuiting
· Equipped with a fully retractable memory coiled cord (10ft)

Specifications: Output : 5.4V, 1A (max)

The charger comes wrapped in plastic:

Once it’s plugged in and your car is running the red light glows.

The red light continues to glow while charging is commensening.

As with the OEM dc charger the screen eventually turns off even though the unit it still being charged.

Don’t be scared. This product does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It charges your Blackberry quickly and efficiently when in the car. It’s a most for all you road warriors out there.

Pros: Designed specifically for the Blackberry. Half the cost of the OEM RIM car charger.
Cons: None.

Smile for the reflection on the screen Larry!

This looks like a very, very useful product.

Arrow question - 04-14-2006, 01:38 PM

Someone told me it's okay to use the Motorola razor car charger for the blackberry 8700. It has the same mini USB port as the blackberry. Is this advisable?
