Product: Black Vaja RI051 Classic Leather Case With Rivet Belt Clip System for 8700 Series
Price: $95.00 USD ($75.00 + $20.00 for the Rivet Clip System)
URL: http://www.vajacases.com

Review:
I recently reviewed this same style case, but it had a different leather and color, and it had no belt clip. Read that review here.

The previous review posted above contains all descriptions of the case, so I will let that one stand for those purposes. My personal feelings about these cases is that they are of the highest quality - there is no case better in this style. Vaja is the tops.

As for the belt clip system, the color difference, the leather difference and new photos, read on.

This one is all black, with a soft, supple leather on the front panel and a more rigid, yet soft, leather for the remainder of the case. Just as my previous case, this one fits perfectly. It is snug at first, but that's only because it is leather, and designed to to anticipate a little give over time. The black leather is beautiful, strong and very classy. This is the type of case you could wear with your best suit in a meeting, or on your favorite pair of jeans for the weekend.

The Rivet System is one that I have never seen before. It uses a small, permenantly affixed steel rivet on the back of the case. The link to the company's website that makes the clip is here. They use a unique system that makes a very strong belt clip. There is no plastic involved, and it has a very low profile when worn. You slide the rivet into the belt clip from the top, and remove it by depressing the side button and pulling it out from the bottom.

They offer attachment options such as a part to affix your BB to the dash when in your car, a system to affix in a woman's purse, a belt loop option, and more. Check them out, they're very cool.

Pics from their website:

This is the part sewn into the leather on this case:

This is the belt portion that attaches to the main clip to form the entire belt clip:

Rating: I give this case 5 out of 5 Berries.

Conclusion: This case is the finest possible in design, materials and function. It is perfect - I cannot praise it enough. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this product. Well done Vaja!

Pros: Beautiful, fine quality materials, soft yet strong leather, screen protection built in, all buttons/jacks accessible, very strong metal belt clip system, etc., etc., etc...

Cons: Expensive, but this is proof positive that you get what you pay for.

Seatle18,

Questions:

1. Could you provide a side view of this case vs your Piel Frama Ostrich Skin both with belt clip installed?
2. Which one in your opinoin is a better belt clip system Std Vaja vs Rivet Sys.
3. When you fold the flap back, will it shut the phone off?

Thank you.

I only have used the Rivet system with Vaja, the other case I have has no belt clip. But, looking at pics of their clip options, as well as other reviews in here with pics of them, I see that the other clip they ise is a standard type plastic one, which I have used in the past. With that in mind, I certainly like the Rivet system better in a swivel clip system. For ratchet clips, it's different because there is no ratcheting Rivet option, for obvious reasons. Anyway, the Rivet system is better, in my opinion. It is immensly strong, unique, easy to use, offers a very low profile, and looks great. Plus it offers other secondary options that you can't get with the plastic clips. Check out their website (linked in my review) for visuals of what I mean.

Yes, when folded all the way to where it is touching the back of the case. That's inevitable, so I just fold it back over my hand, then it works fine.

Thank you, and you are absolutely right that the rivet system is much smaller.
Have you heard anything new regarding the 20% discount from them yet?
Btw, I just received an email from Ruben Moreno at Piel Frama and they are thinking of giving some type of dicount to BBF members and they will be contacting you or Lgeenberg? in the next day or so.
Once again thank you for the piccture.
