Default REVIEW: Fortte STiL Cases - Addendum to Original Review - 06-16-2006, 11:54 AM

This is just an update to the review I made for my original Fortte STiL case. I loved the first one so much that I ordered two more, one in basic black and the other in Cognac. They are configured the same way as my original one - fixed clip placed horizontally for wear on right hip, silver logo shield and embossed Fortte logo. The only difference is that these two have NO elastic on them, as opposed to my first one. The first one, done in Old Fashioned Chocolate, had a very small amount of elastic on the sides to allow room for the Seidio skin I was using at the time. Since I have stopped using the skin, these two are all leather, and fit wonderfully.

For full case details, read the original review I previously wrote. (BTW, I have yet another one coming in the mail! This time I ordered the same case in Mahogany.)

Rating: I give these cases 5 out of 5 Berries, same as before.

I look forward to my first Fortte, actually two of them. Both are horizontal, thanks to Seattle18. I expect them by next week.

im having a lot of trouble with mine... i bought 3 cases...one for 7100, razr and 8700..

The STi Vertical Pouch for Slim Battery Leather PDA Case
for th 8700 is the one i always use.

1) the leather looks used now and the sleeper magnet they stick in the back of the front leather is visible...you can see the round shape of the magnet in front of the leather case.

2) It no longer holds my 8700...its really loose playing around inside the case...bought the one with no elastics and still have trouble.

I just purchased the 7100 and razr case..didnt recieve it yet...but im kinda dissapointed...

Ive had the 8700 pouch for 2 months and it really looks slack!!

just my 2 cents!

Seattle - you convinced me! Just got off the phone with Monica, and have ordered the case in Mahogany. Configuration just like yours, except mine will be horizontal for the LEFT hip, and for the 8700c with extended battery, and since it will always be worn horizontally, I asked them to orient the Fortte logo that way, with my name embossed horizontally below, per the special offer to forum members. Really wonderful how willing they are to do completely custom orders like this, for no extra charge! I'm looking forward to getting it!

Default Fortte case - 07-13-2006, 07:10 PM

I just recently received my case from Fortte. It is fixed clip with strap over top in Old Fashioned Chocolate. It is truly incredible, as far as cases go. I too can barely see the magnet outline on my case but it is barely visible. You would have to know it was there to see it. IMO, I would rather have a little outline showing rather than have a thicker leather, to not show the magnet, making the case more bulky.

I must say that Salo and everyone at Fortte were extremely helpful. Any of my correspondence, which was usually late at night, was immediately answered by the next morning. I had some questions and some customization requests that were all fullfilled to perfection. While delivered on time, the anticipation of the arrival was painful. The only thing I wish I could change was the speed of delivery, which was about 3 weeks, from original order to delivered date, which BTW was what was promised, so there was no surprise in the wait. Here's to you Fortte, and your employees! Top notch.

They must have not cared for my new design because I never heard back from Fortte. Oh well.

What kind of new design did you suggest?

Hi ragin cajun,
I am not sure if you sent me a case design, I searched but not found your 'nick name' as sending us their concepts.
Hope that you e-mail me soon your ideas and I will be happy to respond.
Thanks.

Well, my custom case arrived today, *exactly* 3 weeks to the day from when I ordered it, just as promised. It looks great, as seen in the pics below:

I recently ordered a black Fortte STiL case with the snap at the top, just like the one above, but vertically oriented and in basic black. Should get here tomorrow. I can't wait. I ordered it with the heavy duty metal clip. Basically the same one "Ragun Cajun" ordered, and with the same clip. I used to have a Fortte case for my old Treo and it was the best case I ever owned. Now with the snap closure at top there's even more security. Looking forward to it. Fortte usually gets everything right-on.
