Default MILANTE FOAM CASE: Second Opinion-6 Months Later (with pictures) - 10-17-2006, 07:44 PM

After 6 months of use, I've come to the conclusion that my first opinions and impressions of the case were not fully met.
While it offered the best protection for my 8700g, with the slimmest profile in terms of protection, I was disappointed with a few quality things.

1. Belt Clip. I initially liked that it was full swivel, with a clicking stop at every rotation-so that the clip would click in and lock to that position. However the clip became loose in any position so that the case would swivel slightly. Also the belt clip tip wore out at the tips where it goes over the belt. This is annoying because it catches on the belt and you have to opening the clip with your fingers to get it over the belt. Also the clip itself became loose and would not sit on the belt securely over time.

2. Lack of properly placed Sleeper magnet. I didn't have problems with shorter battery life, but I got a few misdails from shortcut keys being pressed whenever I removed or replaced the phone in the holster.

3.Overall I still recommend the case for short term use, it will definately offer first class protection whether if you use it on your waist or throw it in a bookbag. It holds the berry secure and I had no accidents with slippage or drops using this case. In the long term the case did not prove to be durable due to belt clip deterioration. Also the sleeper magnet not working correctly creates other problems.
