The BSE skin is not the issue, I have it on my phone too.
The trick is to start installing at the top of the phone first, then put together the other areas.
What I did was insert the top at a 45 degree angle so that the notch and tab on the top of the phone mate.
Then while holding the top pieces firmly together, I joined the halves and pressed all around until I heard the click/snap.
That is the only way it worked for me.

i just received my rubberized case too. first impression was bad. its only marginally ok now that i got it to clip together right.
try hinging the bottom on first, then work your way up to the top. the top corners dont seem to go into eatchother quite right, but it holds pretty decently
all in all, not worth $30. not even close. its a $10 skin because it doesnt even have a screen guard.
and about that screen guard, what a joke! i bent the corner when i tried to put it on. now the whole corner stands off the screen and looks like garbage. that was a total waste of $6
if anyone gets a chance to buy the rubberized case, dont pay more then $15 for it. and forget about the screen guard, that should have been included. stupid for me to pay money for a tiny shard of plastic

Just tried that...again.
It finally clicked together, but the edges arn't flush. If I run my finger down the side I can feel the seams.
Also, the top corners on the top piece look like they have a grove on them of some nature, almost like the bottom piece which is cut to fit inside the top piece. Is that how it is on everyone's?
Also, on the left side, once it's all latched together, if I squeeze it it'll kind of click. Not so on the right side.
I think I got meself a defectively cut case!

Highly recommend a screen protector or even a full body skin from BSE. It's a thin film tat goes over the phone and protects from scratches and such. The full body skin is the price of the screen guard from Seidio.

mine does that too. the top left doesnt lock. its just a nice idea that was implemented badly. they still charge the 'nice' price though
i can feel the seams on the sides too. its just the way it is. its not a very well built case, but it does look good. i wouldnt consider it a protective case, if you dropped this phone the case would fling apart, no doubt.

To each their own. I have been buying cases for years, have about 100 of them sitting in a box.
I have bought $10 to $15 cases too. And they don't compare to this rubberized version, mostly in terms of the tight fit this has. All those $10 to $15 plastic cases fit loose and the cutouts are off, meaning the cutouts in the case do not line up with the keys and ports.
For sure, if I thought that the Seidio rubberized was a ripoff, I would not have just ordered another as a spare. I am one to look for hours just to save $5 on something and anything on eBay, for $20 even, would not have compared to this item.
And as to the skin, are your referring to the Best Skins Ever? If so your description sounds like you did not install it correctly. Look at my pics and you can see how good it looks. And at $6 it's a bargain. It far surpasses the other protectors out there. If it's something from Seidio, I don't know about their product.
As to install, do NOT install from the bottom up, I have found only from the top down works and even the Seidio web site says to install from the top down.

could you post a link? a google search for bse turns up the boston stock exchange ;)
but even still, im sick of spending money on this crap. i thought for $40 i would have an end-all protective case like seido's website explains. this is cheap vaccu-formed pop-bottle plastic with a decent finish on it. its clearly not sanded or finished around the edges, pretty disappointing

i guess i should have read instructions. it clipped on though, it works. does your top-left corner lock though?
i really dont want a rubbery skin, i do like this rubberized case finish. i just think it could have been engineered a little better. for the money you pay anyway, $30 for maybe 25 cents in material.

The price should come down when others start making Rubberized case.
Right now nobody offer cases like these for BlackBerry Pearl besides Seidio.

Best Skins Ever Storefront
I bought the full body skin for my 8100, and one for my fiance's ipod. Both are great products, and shipping is cheap when combined.
The clicking thing is annoying for the case, and if dropped it probably will fall apart, but thats not the reason I got the case. It's more of something to protect it from normal every day stuff. The BSE full body skin should do that, and probably does, but I like the peace of mind having something substantial over it. So, screen protected from scratches, back etc, protected from other random stuff. While I payed a lot, I think it's fine for now. And I can't stop feeling up on my phone now, LOL.

one nice aspect is how the bottom bumps up, sort of like a mini thumb rest. it makes it a lot easier to find the bottom row of keys without looking at the phone.
i think right now its just this screen protector that has me most agitated about the case, even thought the two are separate deals. if the screen guard was included with the case i wouldnt care so much, but paying more then a mcdonalds value meal for something that i never got to use leaves a real dry taste in my mouth.

Well, I think it is engineered as well as it could be for the money. We are not talking about a product where precision is required. It's just a plastic phone case.
I think the quality of the case is right up there. The case is rock solid when installed on the phone. Like I said, I don't think anyone who does not know that it has a case would know that the Seidio is on there.
As to the price, I guess it would be nice if I could pay for actual cost of materials on anything I own. That means I could pay $20 for my 19" TFT LCD monitor.
But, things are priced to pay for research and development [R & D], employee salaries, materials, cost of production, marketing, packaging, operating costs such as insurance and taxes, etc.
So that is why something is $30 as opposed to simply the cost of materials, which sometimes can be low.

Thanks for the thanks. It's nice to know my efforts are appreciated. Maybe Seidio should give me a free case for my efforts, seeing how I just forked over another $30 for a spare of these cases.
Remember that the key to putting this case together is to hold the top and bottom part of the case, at the top of the phone, and then with the other hand press the other parts of the case together. It really is just a snap [pun intended].

but thats why it should not be $30

mines not. the top left doesnt lock, and if you press it in enough it makes a click noise. the material is inexpensive, and the design couldnt have taken that long, so i wonder where the money goes.

Product
If you are looking for a screen protectorr, this one will be perfect. there is no glue, nothing. You can remove it and reapply. You can wash it, no problem.
I use it on my current phone and already ordered one for the pearl which is coming in a few days.
P.S. On you screen, it is completely invisible.

I just got the rubberized case onto the phone today. I really like it. I've had the skin on for the last week and really liked that. tho it didn't really collect that much lint, it did get some. and I felt that it was just a little too loose around the edges at times. the case feels very solid, makes the phone feel that much more solid. I would like it to have more of a click to the connections on the sides...but hey, its just a phone case. I love the way it feels. very smooth, silky. and the way it fits into the skinned holster is nice. I can line up the bottom and just push the top in. very smooth. these are my first purchases with seidio and I am very pleased. they have a good selection of pearl accessories. wish they could do more for my ipod, but that's another thread.
