Thanks for the side pics bro. Thats how mine looks. I am just gonna roll with it. I am happy enough about the rest of the cast to tolerate the top corners on mine.

Wow! These cases do look awesome, but I'm curious, do you have any opinion as to what case is best for protecting the keypad? I've got a shieldzone full body cover for my pearl (which I love) but worry about the keys. My last bar phone got pretty tore up and don't want to see that happen to my new BB. I've seen some cases called the Mobi Skin Case for the pearl. Any thoughts?

My Mobi skin case arrived 4 days ago. It's the first skin case I've had so theres nothing I can compare it to, but I like it alot - it slips on easily, the rubber surface is soft, it doesn't attract lint. For me the tackiness of the surface is a good compromise between being able to slide it into a pants pocket and not having it accidentally slip out of my hand or that same pocket. There are little ridges corresponding to each keyboard button, so you still get the tactile feedback for typing - the pictures on their website don't show this clearly. They have a nice color selection- no neon colors. The only con has to do with alignment: the cutout for the microphone is ever so slightly misaligned, so that it covers a small fraction of the microphone - but no one's had trouble hearing me so far. If it really bothers me I'll figure out a way to expand the hole by .5 mm, more than enough to expose the whole microphone. The other misalignment is solely about pickiness- the cutout for the earpiece is not Perfectly centered over it (again, <.5 mm lower would do the trick), but it doesn't cover any of it (unlike the microphone). All in all, not bad for $25 including shipping.

You can find it on bberry.com. (I tried to post the link but I guess I'm too new on this forum...)

edit: the 1 mm.-thick cover recesses the trackball by that much, so I had to up the sensitivity by "10". No big deal.

just got my smoke case-here's what I think:

-Putting it together was a snap...literally.
-it's not as sturdy as I thought it would be.
-looks nice.
-not bulky.
-The bottom piece(piece that covers the "tmobile" logo seems to get in my way slightly when I type.
-The side pieces feel very cheap.

*bottom line-I would rate this case a 7.5 out of 10. For the price, I would rate it a 3 out of 10. This piece of plastic for $30(on sale?!!!) was definately not worth it. If it was 10 bucks, then it might have been worth it.

The rubberized case looks great; my question is will The Pearl fit into a Pro Clip Mount with the skin on the unit? I'll also be buying one of those great Seidio Clips as well. Will the discount be available again next week after the Cingular launch on Tuesday? Thanks, tremendous review!

Good questions. I will have to let another ProClip user answer your question as to the fit, as we don't stock or keep them on hand to test with. As for the discount, we'll have to see whether Cingular does indeed make good on their word. We also try to wow new customers. As we release new items, we try to open them up to a larger market by initially selling at a discount. While that isn't a definite yes, I would imagine there will be accomodations for new owners.

Send me a rubberized and/or crystal case for the 8100 and I'll test it for you in my Pro Clip.

Send us your Pro Clip and we'll test it with our rubberized and/or crystal case for the 8100 :> I'm sure there is at least one user out there that should be able to tell you if it fits or not.

I bought the rubber case for my 7130C and have some observations...

PLUSES:
-It's well built, fits nice, and doesn't sag around the edges as some other covers do.

NEGATIVES:
-Very difficult to get it out of your pocket as the rubber sticks to clothing.
-Harder to type as the case makes using the extreme left or right keys difficult.
-Hard to use the thumb wheel as it's a bit more receased.
-On/off button and mute covered up (but still seem to be usable).
-Attracts lint. Not a real biggie as a lil' bit of water cleans it up.

FINAL: Not for me. Rather pricey, IMO, for what you get. Can't get it out my pocket without bringing everything else with it. Keys, change included. Seems ideal for those in the field...ie. Mechanic, telephone repair man/woman.

Rubberized case and Holster arrived 4 days ago. I am glad that I new from reading various treads (before placing the order) that they were not really rubberized.
I was at first thinking it would be like the rubberised case on my fluke meter, the case price is to much $$ as a stand alone purchase.
Geuss its a sort of a supply and demand issue for the case... they have the supply and demand the price...
I will say the combo of the case and the holster fit and finish is good. The hoslter IMO seems pretty tuff and I am hoping the two will protect the perl a bit (at leat the case keeps the back cover of the perl on).
