Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/135)

Has anyone given the Jabra caller ID headset a try? I saw one online but don't know the model. Looking for a bluetooth headset that does caller id and am wondering what users experiences are. Feedback...anyone? Buehler?

Yes it works like a charm with the blackberry 8800 and 8700 i have. very good voice quaility. The only downside with the caller ID is that it only shows the number which is calling without the associated name from your address book. This suits my purpose very well. A nice perk is that it has a backlight and vibrate. My only other compliant is that i have to charge it every 2 or 3 days with minimal usage.

BTW the model # is jabra BT800

I don't have one, but with my Jabra 250 I often keep it in my pocket and my phone in my bag. Would be nice to pull the 250 out and see the caller ID I suppose.

I believe the BT800 has caller ID, but it is HUGE! A few years ago I used a SonyEricsson headset that also had caller ID_ can't remember the model numbere though.

If I'm sitting home, I don't wear the headset, but keep it on a desk, and when a call comes in, I just look at the headset and will know who it is because my phone might be in my jacket in another room. while the jabra bt800 is a bit on the large side, I have the jabra bt8010 which is about 2/3 smaller and it has oled display with about 10 hrs of talk time and the best part is that it has its own phone book for up to 30 contacts. so I can be lying in bed and just use the headset to dial out one of those contacts or any recent incoming numbers as well, very useful.

You can wear it on the same rope that you hang your ID badge from to quickly see the caller number. That is if you actually wear the dreadful badge.

I used the BT800 until I got my Jawbone...

Worked really good, battery life was weak... Could have been louder...
Great thing was that the BB could stay in the holster, and just look at the BT sitting on my desk to see who was calling...

Outrigger have you had any problems with the BT8010? I just got it and while it works great for making calls, it won't let me pick up calls and actually prevents me from answering the phone (I have to switch back to the handset since the jabra goes into constant vibrate mode). Anybody else have issues with the 8010?

never had a problem. while its true that the incoming calls are displayed in numbers, not name, I do have most of my contacts in its own phone book, so when one of those contacts call me, the name is displayed, and not the number. You can have up to 30 contacts in there, but only one number per contact. I have never used it with the 8800, as I don't have a voice plan, just data only, but I can't imagine a problem as it works fantastic with my phones. But if yours doesn't work, exchange it. I love this headset.
