| Skin Tight Rubberized Case Review Please Login to Remove! This is not your average case.
It’s a whole lot more. Speck Products have managed to put together more then just a case or a holster, they’ve just made your blackberry indestructible, while, looking cool
You’ve probably seen them everywhere on ipod's, and for a very good reason, they not only protect your blackberry from scratches and drops, but also, they look good. The texture on the case itself makes it very easy to hold on to, and is never slippery, even when wet, meaning that your less likely to drop your blackberry.
What surprised me, is that Speck Products included a clear plastic lens to protect the screen. The lens is fitted into four grooves in the rubber case, with that kind of protection, your blackberry screen is indestructible. All the holes on the rubber case are nicely rounded off and fit perfectly. The case fits tightly around the blackberry and provides no room for dirt to build up. Even though the case is made of a fairly thick material, it doesn’t change the ergonomics of the 7290 at all, talking or typing is just made more enjoyable as the berry is much easier to hold on to.
But wait, there’s more. The Skin Tight Case also features a swivel holster, which the blackberry with skintight case fits perfectly into, made of durable, yet lightweight silver plastic. No worries about battery life either, as a magnet is included in the case to turn your screen off, or to turn on your blackberry’s “in holster” settings.
Fit and finish of the case is excellent, after some moving around of the case to line the plastic window up correctly. The only thing that I am disappointed in, is that on the black skintight case, the led hole was sunk in, but wasn’t cut out. This wasn’t a problem on the clear case, which I prefer anyways, as its visible through the silicone. Price: $34.95 Available for 7290, 7280, 7230, 7250, 7520, 7510, 6750, 6230, 7100R & 7100T Available in Clear, Black and Light Blue http://www.speckproducts.com

| Love the case - emaile dthem ealrier to see if they plan to release one for the 7100g - they said depending on how sales go for the 7290 and 7100t cases, they will consider it. I really like the idea of a full case with the clip that has the magnet as well. Lots of protection. But - sadly I will need to wait until a 7100g is designed. | | Offline

thanks guys!! | I will be definately be interested in this case asap. Is there anyway I can pre-order one now and have you guys just send it when it's in? I want all colors, this is my fix instead of a cell skin . Thanks for making such an awesome product.
also guess, does the protection screen magnify the BB screen (that is what it looks like), and is it clear compared to say a screen at krusell or javoedge?

| AWESOME Cases. I was looking on their site and it says that they are being sold at Wal-Mart. I was not able to find them on the Wal-Mart site. I want to pick one up on the way home today. Wal-Mart is the closest to me and Fry's is out of my way. Does anyone know if Wal-Mart actually carries them? Yes, I will be calling them to check also.

This says it is available for the 7250 but doesn't show that on the SpeckProducts website. Can someone clear this up for me? I'll buy right now.

| Well I got home tonight to find a nice FedEx package waiting for me. I have never been so enthused about and aftermarket product for the blackberry like I have this case/protector.
It definately fits like a glove... the first thing I did was throw the berry on the basement floor, twice in fact... bounced around a little bit, but is none the worse.
I must admit at this point, it does feel a little weird... having had the 6280 for a few years, and now the 7290, it's a little awkward right now, but I am sure I will get used to it.
I will say this though, I am very impressed with the service that Amy has given so far. As her and I spoke yesterday, I explained to her that not only do I work for a construction company, I also work with a rather large Rogers/Bell dealer in the Niagara region (4000+ current data subscriptions), I also manage several BES servers for the clients, so much to my suprise, there was not just 1 case, but 2 cases in the delivery today.
I will be making daily updates to this thread or maybe another separate thread chronicling the daily wear and tear (abuse) that my Blackberry goes through, as well as some of our people at work go through. Our handhelds regularily get dropped... in mud, on asphalt, on concrete, dirt, gravel, you name it. I will take pictures as well from time to time of the handhelds as proof of how they fair.
I am already very impressed with this, definately has top marks for the 'coolness factor', and I can't see any reason why it won't get top marks for the 'ruggedness factor'.
Way to go Speck for something new and exciting for us Blackberry users... $35 is a small price to pay as opposed to replacing our blackberry's because I have dropped the 6280 40 to 50 times and maybe 6 or 7 times for the 7290, and I am sure I am not the only one.

| Guess - does the screen protector stick out alot? I guess what I'm asking is does it fit flush with the case when you put it in?
Also, did you mean you can't see the LED blinking on the black case?
Thanks!!

| The screen protector does stand out a little bit, maybe a 16th of an inch. which it about as thick as the screen protector is. I was suprised at how thick the screen protector actually is. I had a quick peek from the side and there is some spce between the real screen and the protector as well. The holster that comes with the case is perfectly moulded for the distance that the screen does stick out.
I have not had mine outdoors yet, it sucks to get home after dark sometimes, but in my basement with the flourescent lights there is not nearly as much glare as I had expected. I can hold the blackberry at nearly any angle and still see the screen enough to read it.
Maybe Guess should have a BBF draw for one of these for some lucky member here... it would be cool to have some type of monthly draw.
Going back to the LED... there is a definate spot on the case that is thin right where the LED is located, I haven't taken out the black one yet, but I can see the LED just fine on the blue one. I will check out the black one tomorrow and report back if Guess hasn't already.

| Group buy pricing??? Maybe??? The website doesn't show the 7100G is for sale... I wonder if they sell a holster like the ones on the site w/o the rubber skin... does anyone know? Guess, do you think that we may be able to organize a "group buy" so that we may have the price brought down a little? Do you think the manufacture will do soemthing like that?
