Hi all, I have around 8 BB's on my server and all are fine except one.

When I set the BB up using the desktop manager - I choose (send emails etc using the BES - Outlook) but it seems to be defaulting to wanting to send emails via the desktop, therefore I cannot send when the BB is not connected to the PC.

I have looked everywhere including the server and everything looks fine?

It says: Sending using Desktop (secure) - obviously does not leave the BB until then connected to Desktop.


Can anyone help?

Have you made sure the service book has been delivered (try resending)

Also check on the handset that in Email - options - Email Reconciliation - that wireless reconcile is on

What happend when you dont see the option Reconcile now on your device ?? what are the reason of not having this ??

Does the device receive email? Does it perform any function wirelessly? Have you verified the BlackBerry Enterprise Data plan on the device?

give this a whirl - Unable to send or receive messages. Message status field displays: Sent using unknown secure.

Thanks for your replies, I have followed the steps mentioned above and resent the service books etc but nothing has changed.

The device is not recieving emails unless plugged into the desktop, and when sending from the device it says: 'Sent using Desktop (Secure)' and it doesn't leave to BB until plugged into the desktop.

It's like there is a setting somewhere telling it to send through the desktop instead of the server?

On the user's account on the BES server, are the following settings on?

Redirection tab ---> Redirect to blackberry device = True
PIM Sync tab ---> Wireless Synchronisation Enabled = True

Well, seeing as the system side seems fine maybe it is a SIM or device issue. As you activated over the wire, we are not in a situation where the SIM and/or device are known good when it comes to wireless.

Have you taken a SIM from a device that works OTA and tried it in the problem BB? What I am getting at here is maybe the SIM in the problem BB is not enabled for BlackBerry Corporate data.

I also think you are maybe confusing terms here. Desktop does not mean that the device would only work when connected to a desktop...

When I install the BB Desktop Manager it gives you the option to choose exchange and then Sent using BES instead of send using desktop redirection?

OK, that option doesn't exist in Domino DTop Manager.

Anyway, did you test with another SIM?
