Default Folder redirection and BES

Please Login to Remove!

Wow, sorry I am being a total pain today and asking lots of questions. My lack of understanding re: folder redirection is the new query! I have searched (honest guv!) and not found quite what I am looking for, so here goes:

I have a user who wants to use mail rules to bypass inbox for certain new emails. Same user wants these on BB. All fine and good if folder redirection is used.

Problem is that I have not installed DTop Mgr for quite a while, since we went to 4.1 really and everything magically works OTA. So, question one is:

Is there a way to enable folder redirection from the handheld?

I have searched my device and cannot see one, so I think the answer is NO but just wanted confirmation. Which leads me onto Q2:

If I have to install desktop manager for the user, they can then go in and enable folder redirection for specified folders. Does the user then need to synch device with Desktop Manager, or will the amendments in folder redirection work WITHOUT a handheld synch?

The reason I want to avoid a handheld synch is that AFAIK users who are synching OTA still get prompts about "you cannot synch address book, tasks, calendar" etc when synching with a cable because those are configured for wireless synch. I always worry the users will misunderstand and then start poking around and changing things. I hate desktop manager. Gah.

When in the email screen, go to options->Email Settings, then click the trackwheel. Folder redirection is there.

Can't see that on my 8100. Under Options > Email Settings, I only have:

Send Email To Handheld
Save Copy In Sent Folder
Use Auto Signature
Use Out Of Office Reply

With Message Services selected if you push in the BB button on the HH you don't have folder redirection listed in the menu choice?

With BES Domino 4.1.x you can set the folder redirection without using Desktop Manager or using the handheld message options. HOWEVER, the link is there on the BlackBerry Manager and it is not working...

Not quite sure I am following what you mean there, but I think the answer is No.

I am now wondering whether my illustrious "ban everything" policy is involved here...

You need to click your trackwheel or option button, then you will see folder redirection in the pop-up menu, it is not on the main screen.
