We have a 3 server BES 4.1.2 environment. One user on the 02 server was experiencing alot of pending messages. No other users on the 02 server or the backend server were having the same problem. We had the user delete the desktop CMIME and resent a new one. The user received the new service book and was still experiencing occasional pending messages (once or twice an hour). We moved the user to the 03 server and delivery returned to normal.

It was my interpretation that pending messages would be a device, carrier or coverage problem. Can anyone think of something else? Why would moving the user fix the problem?

If you run the BEs Resource kit tool MESSAGEFLOW.EXE against this user in the BES logs for the affected days, what does it report? how high does the pending count as reported by PENDING.EXE get to be?

It got up to 2 twice, 3 once, and 13 right before me moved it. All were discovered through notification.

You might look to the OutOfCoverage tool to see if coverage is spotty. What mail server version are you running?

What exactly am I looking for file generated from outofcoverage.exe. Using 10 minutes on the time switch i got this.

Only two of the four pending instances fell within an out of coverage period.
