Default Agent and CDO Helper Timeouts

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I'm running an Exchange BES 4.1 and I find that there are various timeouts and I was wondering if the timeout values were configurable somehow.

Situation 1:

Randomly in the logs, I see that the agent tries to shut down the CDO Helper application and that times out:

[40000] (10/31 08:42:05.721):{0x1738} CDO helper 29505530 was closed while waiting for results in WaitForCalHelperToComplete

Situation 2:

Sometimes when I shut down the controller it seems that it is waiting for the agent to shut down and then it terminates the process.

I'm sure that the timeout values that are used before terminating either the agent or the CDO helper is set somewhere...I was wondering if it was configurable or just hard coded into the product.

Thanks in advance,

What service pack of BES are you running? Same question for Exchange.

I don't know of a reg hack to forcefully terminate the processes after x amount of time. It does indeed wait for the agent to cleanly shut down before it stops itself. How long is this taking? How many agent processes do you have running?

sorry, i wasn't notified of the response.

actually, i'm running BES for Exchange but against Zimbra using ZCB. Its a MAPI compliant plug in that allows all MAPI traffic to go to a Zimbra instance instead of an Exchange instance. i'm using BES 4.1.4 and i'm even running maintenance release 4 and this is still happening.

its possible that this problem is due to a Zimbra plug in related issue but i was just curious if i could play with some registry keys to give an infinite timeout value so that i can see how long it actually takes before the agent shuts down cleanly by itself (if at all).

thanks
