8310 and DM = Emails 'still' come to handheld when plugged in

Default 8310 and DM = Emails 'still' come to handheld when plugged in

Hey Guys,

i have 2 8310's (OS 4.2.2.151) and desktop managers v4.2 and when they are plugged in and "connected" email still gets sent to the handheld.

THis is for the CEO and 2IC. They only have the DM's installed for this very function.

It "used" to work but now it doesnt.

Im not sure what could be the problem.

I have tried reinstalling the DM's but still doesnt work.

Any idea's?

Desk Top Manager>Email>General Settings> Disable Message Redirection When device is connected.

Personally I never ever want that functionality..I want my BB to be a true 'remote control' for my mailbox, and there's nothing quite like ignoring the last 30 minutes of emails coming in whilst in the office and then cleaning them out when on the train home...

I know we are only testing at present and as such only have three devices live but for two of them all they were given was the BB, charger and holster, and that's all they are getting. The third user is my boss, the IT Comms guy and he snaffled the whole box when it came in.

Sure but wait til you get forced to upgrade them to 4.3...it's a very 'consumer focused' or to put it less politely "bloatware", slow to install, seems to work pretty slowly on my old laptop (but which ran 4.2 ok)

Does 4.3 not support the feature of Mail Redirection when the Blackberry is connected?

Nothing missed, was just saying that the two users i have outside the department are only getting the remote mail bit. My boss is a curious bunny and so wanted to see what else he could do, i can trust him not to break anything, or at least fix what he breaks on his BB.

I do the same. DM is on 2 machines in the shop, mine and the BES, for the app loader. Everybody else gets the box with everything except the CD.

i haven't even given them the USB cable or mentioned the possibility of any desktop connectivity.
