What is the best way to temporarily assign an existing users Blackberry to another Exchange user for a week.

We are currently running Exchange and BES 4.0.0.110.

Is it possible to swap the users SIM if they are on the same network?

Sorry for stupid questions, I am new to blackberry admin.

The Blackberry DEVICE is linked to the users email, not the SIM card. Swapping sims will just sort out voice not data.

I would
(a) backup the device
(b) wipe the device
(c) setup new user on the BES
(d) Ent activate the device for the new user

New user should now be working ok on BB. When the old user wants there device back then remove 'new user' from the BES, Wipe the device, restore from backup and re-activate..

It's a PITA for 'little' gain. do you not have a 'loaner' device you can use for the week rather than frigging around with 2 users devices/email. Contact your VF / SP rep and see what they can sort you out with..

Welcome to the forums! First off ... you're questions aren't stupid. Asking if my avatar was a primate might be a little stupid ... but even still one can never tell.

In addition to what was indicated already you should look to upgrade your current BES. You're at the 4.0 RTM version ... Service Pack 7 is currently available and support for 4.0 goes away at the end of January. Just something to keep in mind for planning....
