Default Dumb handheld question...

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user that when the email deletes from the handheld, it deletes it fro m his outlook mailbox..

I've tested it on mine, set "on conflicts" to handheld wins, deleted the email from my handheld, then hit reconcile now... The email is still in my inbox ..

How long does this usually take and what is the best practice? I would think that most people use mailbox wins simply because inadvertenly delete stuff from their handheld...

Thanks in advance, it's been awhile since i supported blackberry users...

Assuming you're on BES & Exchange...

I'm not sure why it works this way, but when you delete it will take some time to delete from the Inbox depending on signal, Exchange cached mode, and the phase of the moon. Performing a reconcile now doesn't change that.

As far as the setting goes, it depends on the user. For myself, if I delete from the handheld I never want to see the message again, whereas I've found that other users delete only from their handheld, 'just to be safe'. I'd explain the different options to the users and select what's best for them.

Why dont you try changing it to On conflicts: Mailbox Wins.

Deleting, I usually set it to prompt, there are some messages I want to only delete from the handheld.

I'm gonna try unchecking the Exchanged Cache Mode on the Outlook Client...

I'm in test mode, so I need to work out the kinks for users...

I've set mine to prompt and mailbox wins...

Like I said, this user deleted from his handheld, got to work, saw the email just sitting there in his in box...

I checked the mailbox wins, that's the winner! It prompts you if you want to delete on handheld or handheld and mailbox...Thanks guys!
