Default Device Automatically Locks

Please Login to Remove!

I am both the BES admin and BB user in this case. My 8820 regularly locks and requires a *Send to unlock. I do not know if this is holster or time dependent. In any event. I do not want this device to auto lock. I'm running with just the default IT Policy (Force Lock Upon Holstering set to False) and my 8820 security settings is NO under Force lock on Holstering? Any thoughts on how to keep this device unlocked so I do not have to continuously type *send to see my messages? No passwords have been set.

TIA,
Bill

Do you have 'Dial From Home Screen' set to 'No' under Phone / Options? If so, is it possibe you're pressing the K key upon holstering (which will lock the keyboard)?

Thanks. I do not see the Phone/Options path on my 8820. I've looked for something similar and haven't found anything yet.

Press the green Phone button. Then hit the menu key and select "Options."

OK. Tried that - still no joy. I have determined that this is a holster locking issue unrelated to time because I left my BB out of the holster all night and it remained unlocked. In the holster this morning and it locked again. My BES IT Policy is set to False for "Force Lock Upon Holstering" and at the device I have "Lock Handheld Upon Holstering" set to NO. Any other suggestions? All are appreciated.

TIA

Just to double check, resend the IT policy to the device. Then after, you have verified that the policy is received, and make sure that the setting on the BB is set to not lock then pull the battery for a reboot.

Have you checked with your users to see if their BB's do the same thing?

Thanks, ladydi. I did resend the IT Policy (We are just using the default IT policy and checked that to ensure the setting was what I wanted). Then did the battery and SIM card removal. Still locks in the holster. We only have one other user - he has been out of town for the past few weeks so I do not know what his does.
